Abstract

This course will provide an overview of some of the most relevant network attacks, together with a presentation of the State of the Art in the field of attack detection.

In the first part, some basics concepts about network security will be provided, while in the second part of the course, the most common and important threads to network security will be discussed. For most of the discussed attacks several laboratories will be presented.

Finally, for each of the discussed attack a suitable defense mechanism will be discussed.
