In November 2005 three workshops were organized for the doctorate, one for each area: electronic engineering, computer engineering, and telecommunication engineering. In the related workshop, the students of that particular area presented the research they had carried out thus far in their doctorate course.

Each presentation lasted around 15 minutes, plus time for questions. The style of the presentation was like a short communication at a congress. Each student, in agreement with his/her tutor, gave the title of his/her presentation, which was shown in the workshop programme.

The doctoral committee assigned for each workshop three chairs with the task of organizing the workshop. Each workshop lasted one day. Due to the high number of presenters in the computer engineering workshop, parallel sessions were organized.
