Ph.D. Workshops 2006

In November 2006, the Doctorate in Information Engineering of the University of Pisa held three workshops - one for each of the areas: electronic engineering, computer engineering, and telecommunication engineering, which characterise the activity of the doctorate. Below are the names of the chairs and the related doctoral curricula:

Electronic engineering

Advances in Electronic Circuits, Systems and Devices (brochure, pdf)
November 13, 2006

Chairs:
Prof. Andrea Nannini, Ing. Giuseppe Barillaro, Ing. Sergio Saponara

Curricula:
Electronic measurements and instrumentation; Micro and nanoelectronic technologies, devices and systems

Computer engineering

Advances in Computer Systems and Networks (brochure, pdf)
November 10, 2006

Chairs:
Prof. Gigliola Vaglini, Prof. Enzo Mingozzi, Ing. Pierfrancesco Foglia

Curriculum: Computer systems architectures

Telecommunication engineering

Telecommunication Systems (brochure, pdf)
November 15, 2006

Chairs:
Prof. Umberto Mengali, Ing. Maria Sabrina Greco, Ing. Michele Pagano

Curricula:
Statistical signal processing and radar systems; Telecommunication networks; Communication systems

All the chairs belong to the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Pisa. The workshops took place at the two branches of the Department of Information Engineering (Pisa, via Caruso 16 - electronic engineering and telecommunication engineering, and via Diotisalvi 2 - computer engineering), and at the Aula Magna Nuova of the Faculty of Engineering, via Diotisalvi 2 (computer engineering).

The activities of the workshops are documented by the book Doctoral Workshops 2006, which contains the summaries of the presentations, that were prepared by the students in their role as future presenters as part of their preparation for the workshop.
